AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ABANDONMENT OF ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY IN THE GRAND PRAIRIE PRIZE ACRES ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, DALLAS COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE QUITCLAIM THEREOF TO RONALD & ROXCIE MCCULLER, THE ABUTTING OWNERS; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE ABANDONMENT AND QUITCLAIM MADE HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE INDEMNIFICATION OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE AGAINST DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE ABANDONMENT HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION FOR THE ABANDONMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Prairie, acting pursuant to law and upon the request and petition of Ronald and Roxcie McCuller, hereinafter referred to as GRANTEE, deems it advisable to abandon and quitclaim an unimproved alley right-of-way parallel to a street known as Domingo Drive in the City of Grand Prairie, Dallas County, Texas, the description of said alley right of way being more particularly described in “Exhibit A”, attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Prairie is of the opinion that said public right-of-way is not needed for public use, and same should be abandoned and quitclaimed; and
WHEREAS, said alley right-of-way, running parallel to a street known as Domingo Drive, was dedicated for public use at no cost by plat of Lot 6, Block N, Grand Prairie Prize Acres Addition, approved by Commissioners Court June 1, 1950, and recorded in Volume 15, Page 277...
