Analysis
The Police Department Auto Pound remote facility located at 3010 Hardrock Road does not have a generator to support the various operations of the facility in the event of an unforeseen power failure. The new generator will be equipped to handle the full capacity of building in the event of a power failure, and the fuel for the new equipment will be purchased through our Fleet Services Department distributor at an estimated cost of $4 per gallon of diesel.
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including NJPA.
