On August 3, 2010, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to Gardner Telecommunications, Inc. in the amount of $68,616.00, plus $2,475 for in house engineering, and a 5% contingency of $3,431 for a grand total amount of $74,792.00 for the preparation of conduit and ground boxes at various traffic signal locations. The preparations of conduit and ground boxes were necessary for installation of fiber or Ethernet cable associated with wireless broadband radio communication system to traffic signal locations.
This project was funded using the unobligated fund balance in the Street Capital Projects Fund (400192), WO #07705103 (NCTCOG Local Air Quality Program - signal communication)
Change Order No. 1 in the net total amount of $1,275 provided for additional Ground Box with concrete apron and Erosion Control.
Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $932.00 provided for additional 2" and 4" PVC conduit installation outside Marshall and Trader's Village water towers for wireless broadband radio communication system to traffic signal locations.
Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $932.00 was necessary for installation of additional conduit in order to establish fiber communication to traffic signals along Robinson Rd. using GPISD installed fiber. This change order contained a calculation error, and the total should have been $1,320.00. The difference of $388.00 is being corrected in Change Order No. 4.
Change Order No. 4 in the negative amount of $21,717.75 is for -$22,105.75 for project under runs as well as the $388.00 correction to Change Order No. 3.
