Analysis

The City currently has a contract with R&R Electric which will expire on December 31, 2015.  This vendor has notified the City they will not be renewing this contract as the vendor will be retiring.  Ed’s Electric Service has done prior satisfactory work for the City and offers competitive pricing through the current contract with the City of Hurst. The City of Hurst contract is effective June 11, 2015 and expires June 10, 2016 with three, optional renewals available.  The contract will include services for electrical installation, maintenance and repair.  All requests for electrical services for departments will go through Facilities Services.

 

Staff requests City Council approval to award a contract to Ed’s Electric Service in the amount of $200,000 for six (6) months with the option to renew for three (3) one-year periods totaling to $1,400,000 if all extensions are exercised.

 

Financial Consideration

Funds are available in various departments operating budgets and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the fiscal year.  Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
