Analysis
The Fire Department's Power Pro Stretchers, Stair Pro stair chairs and Power Load Systems are Stryker brand products. In 2014 implementation of the Power Load System began during the stretcher replacement process. The Power Load System, in conjunction with the Power Pro Stretchers, is an automatic stretcher loading system designed to reduce back injuries. Currently the department has 10 Power Pro Stretchers, 2 Power Load Systems with 2 more on order and 3 stair chairs. Stair chairs are used to move a patient in a space that will not accommodate a cot. A stair chair allows safe transport of patients through tight spaces and down stairs. The inspection and preventative maintenance on this equipment is necessary to ensure proper and safe functionality for medics and patients. This contract would include 2 inspections and maintenance on each piece of equipment annually.
