On February 21, 2011, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a consultant contract to Teague, Nall and Perkins for evaluation phase of Freetown Paving, Drainage and Waterline Improvements from Robinson to Carrier Parkway in the maximum amount of $49,600. The project consisted of preparing schematic plans and a schematic design summary for the reconstruction of Freetown Road from Robinson Road to Carrier Parkway. In addition, the contract included a drainage analysis of the existing and future storm drain trunk system in Freetown Road between Cottonwood Creek and SW 3rd Street. The project also included a route evaluation for a proposed 20" water line between Robinson Road and Carrier Parkway.
Change Order/Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $206,300 for a revised total contract of $255,900 consisted of preparing design and construction plans for paving, drainage, Waterline and signal improvements for the reconstruction of Freetown Road phase āIā between Robinson Road and Carrier Parkway (W.O # 590.39 and #611.34); also included in this amendment was the design of the connecting drainage improvements in Carrier Parkway between SH 303 (pioneer Parkway) and Freetown Road. Due to the proposed Carrier Parkway/Freetown Road intersection widening under this project, this amendment also included the design of the replacement and relocation of traffic signals at the said intersection; it also included coordination efforts for combining and bidding the proposed 30ā Robinson Road waterline plans under one bid package.
