Analysis
On December 5, 2012 the City approved a contract with Birkhoff, Hendricks and Carter, LLP in the amount of $8,800 for engineering services for the North Dallas water supply line. The original contract covered the preliminary investigation and research between the City of Grand Prairie and the City of Irving for the existing Jamison water supply line from MacArthur Blvd west to the point of the existing line for the proposed future improvements to State Highway 183 based on the TxDOT schematic.
The current proposed change order/amendment No. 4 is for the onsite monitoring and inspection of the installation of the 36" water line to look after the city's interests in this project. Due to the current work load, city inspectors do not have the available time to monitor this critical supply line project for the City of Grand Prairie that is located in the City of Irving.
Change Order/Amendments No. 1 and 3 were for time extensions only.
Change Order/Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $5,000 approved by the City May 13th, 2014, covered the preliminary review and scope of services coordination with TxDOT and the State Highway 183 Developer.
Revised total contract amount will be $102,440 with a revised expiration date of December 31, 2015.
