Analysis
As part of the City’s ongoing Capital Improvements Program, wastewater locations in decaying condition are recommended for replacement by the Water Utilities staff on a yearly basis. The City contracted with an engineering consultant, RPS Group, to prepare plans and specifications to replace aged wastewater mains in various locations throughout the city with new wastewater mains. For this design package, the following six (6) locations were identified:
These project locations include approximately 239 linear feet of 10” wastewater pipe replacement; approximately 2,574 linear feet of 10” wastewater pipe rehabilitation by cured-in-place lining; approximately 3,644 linear feet of 12” wastewater pipe replacement; approximately 1,493 linear feet of 15” wastewater pipe replacement; approximately 3,208 linear feet of 18” wastewater pipe replacement; approximately 2,200 square yards of pavement replacement and other miscellaneous related items of work.
- NE 5th Street from Tarrant Road to the Union Pacific Railroad; then running parellel to the Union Pacific Railroad from SE 5th Street to SE 3rd Street; crossing the Union Pacific Railroad and Jefferson Street at SE 3rd Street down to Bradford Street from SE 3rd Street to SW 3rd Street; then running under Jefferson Street form SW 3rd STreet to SW 6th Street.
