Analysis
As part of the City’s preparations for the remodeling of the old Fire Station No. 1 into a restaurant space for FnG Eats, City staff identified the need to replace the aging water and wastewater lines behind the Old Fire Station No. 1 location. The City Council approved an engineering design contract in the amount of $88,200 with KSA Engineers, Inc. on February 16, 2016 to prepare plans and specifications to replace the aging water and wastewater infrastructure in this location with new water and wastewater mains. The new water and wastewater mains will be located between Main Street and the Union Pacific Railroad from NW 6th Street to Center Street.
This project includes approximately 1,087 linear feet of 8” water pipe replacement, 1,936 linear feet of 8” wastewater pipe replacement, 39 linear feet of 6” wastewater pipe replacement, 843 linear feet of 4” wastewater service pipe replacement, and other miscellaneous related items of work.
The City of Grand Prairie advertised and received four (4) bids for this project on Wednesday, September 7, 2015:
