Analysis
February 5, 2019, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a design contract in the amount of $122,369.00 to Pacheco Koch, LLC to provide design plans for storm drainage improvements in Dickey Road, west of SW 3rd Street to Shawnee Trace (maximum 2200 feet long) paralleling the existing storm drain line as per the recommendations from the 2016 Study of the Indian Hills area.

During the design process, it was determined that the existing water and wastewater mains are old and it would be prudent to replace these mains in conjunction with this storm drain improvement project. This Change Order/Amendment No. 1 in the total amount of $50,486.00 to the contract provides $22,905.00 for the design of needed water line replacements and $27,581 for the design of needed wastewater line replacements in Dickey Road from SW 3rd Street to Shawnee Trace. The recommended water and wastewater replacements replaces old, expended water and wastewater lines with new lines to help maintain water facility services for this area of Dickey Road. Construction funding is to be provided as part of the FY 2020 CIP Budget.

Design of this project is currently in progress with anticipated completion in December 2019. This engineering services contract will last until construction of this project is completed estimated to be in 2021.

Financial Consideration
Original funding for this contract was executed with Storm Water Capital Improvement Funds. However, this change order/amendment is specific to water and wastewater design.

Funding in the total amount of $50,486 is available as follows:
