Analysis
Fire Station #5 located at 3202 S Great Southwest Pkwy was built in 1988. This station has not been updated or renovated, and is currently not scheduled to be moved or rebuilt. Within the past few years carpeting has been updated.
The kitchen remodel will include cabinets, countertops, appliances, reframing, drywall, paint, lighting, vinyl flooring and electrical. Cost will also include hauling and disposal of debris and final cleanup. Total for the kitchen remodel is $52,200.
The bathroom has a leaking valve behind one of the walls. Repairs include the demolition of existing tiled shower unit and vanity countertop, shower plumbing, toilet replacements with ADA toilets, refinishing cabinets, resurfacing countertops, removing and replacing two tall wall ADA partitions, drywall, paint. Total cost for bathroom repairs and updating is $13,785.
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency.
