Analysis
This project was discussed during the 2015 budget process and the project was funded for engineering and design this year. The project is to widen the roadway from four lanes to six lanes to improve traffic circulation on Great Southwest Parkway north of IH-20 to Mayfield Road to also help with the Traders Village traffic. Construction will be funded during future annual budget process.
This contract will provide for professional engineering and surveying services for Phase I of a two phase approach to perform a project development study to evaluate paving, drainage, and City utility capital improvements along and development of 30% design for Great Southwest Parkway from IH-20 north to the intersection with Mayfield Road.
Phase I of this project will include the following items:
- Performing a traffic study of Great Southwest Parkway between the IH-20 westbound
frontage road and Mayfield Road, and identify potential capital improvment projects
along this corridor
- Identify impacts to adjacent properties and existing infrastructure.
- Idenity roadway operational and capacity improvmenet options and alternatives

- Corridor Constraints
- Franchise utility impacts
- City utility impacts
