Analysis

The Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the Grand Prairie Sports Facilities Development Corporation (Sports Corp.) require the City Council to appoint the President and members of the Board of Directors.

 

The terms for Mayor Ron Jensen and Council Member Jim Swafford expired on May 31, 2018. The terms of Board Members R. J. Garcia and Mike Skinner expire on July 31, 2018.   The City Council will need to appoint 2 city council members to the Sports Corp. Board of Directors and two members to the Sports Corp. Board of Directors who are not city council members. In addition, the City Council will need to appoint the President for a 1 year term.

There is no financial impact to the City.
