Analysis
City Council approved the reconstruction of 2 houses, as part of the HOME Reconstruct Program, and the Future Builders Program home on February 21, 2017. For all three of these projects, the low bid was awarded to Johnson Construction Services; however, staff delays in beginning construction and increases in the availability and cost of materials due to the impact of hurricanes Harvey and Maria have increased dramatically the availability and cost of materials for these projects. Staff is requesting the approval of budget increases to cover material cost increases and unforeseen change orders for all three of these projects totaling $61,500.00 (attachment A).
Financial Consideration
The requested $61,500 cumulative increase, including all 3 projects, is available in AU 301892 HOME budget.
