Analysis
On January 31, 2019, a contract was executed with Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects based on an hourly basis to coordinate the design for a structure to enclose the relocation of the aquatic chemicals at the Summit. The design services for the structure and supporting elements related to the relocation has been expanded to include bid documents and specifications.

After final design is completed and subsequent bids received for construction, staff will bring a proposal before the council to fund the construction elements as it relates to the Summit chemical room relocation.

This revision to the project requires a design change order with Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects to work with City’s vendor to develop shop drawings and specification for the pre-fabricated structure. The negotiated fee is in the amount of $23,000 plus $2,000 for reimbursable expenses. The amount of this change order brings the total contract amount to $50,000 which exceeds City Manager authorization of contract approvals.

This item was presented to the Finance & Government Committee on September 3, 2019 for review and approval.

Financial Consideration
Funding in the amount of $25,000 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the Parks Capital Project Fund (317193 ) to WO #01917703 (Summit Chemical Storage Room).
