Analysis
Funding in the amount of $100,000 was approved in the FY14 Capital Projects budget for entrance sign and landscape improvements at Prairie Lakes Golf Course. Landscape design was developed by Park Planning staff and the project was advertised for bids. A total of two bids were received in the office of the Purchasing Manager on September 9, 2014. The project was bid has a best value bid process. The contractor ranked as best value is Parkscape Construction, Inc. in the amount of $64,993 for the base bid and three additive alternates. The best value bidder is also the low bidder for this project.

Bid Alternate #1: Construction of limestone columns at entry fence corners
Bid Alternate #2: Install concrete mow strip under new fence sections
Bid Alternate #3: Construction and installation of new entrance gate
Other expenses for the project include purchase of stone for entry sign and rock edge and irrigation materials. Earthwork, finish grading and irrigation will be performed by in-house labor.
This project was presented and approved by the Finance and Government Committee on October 14, 2014.
