Analysis
On April 7, 2015, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to RLM EarthCo, Inc. in the amount of $289,797.59 and approved a 5% contingency of $14,490 for a total of $304,287.59 for Landscaping Improvements to Central Park.

The original contract for landscaping improvements in Central Park included landscaping improvements along the existing Warrior Creek channel and around Lake 1 of Central Park to help alleviate erosion concerns in this area.

The current proposed Change Order/Amendment No. 2 provides for the following:

- Removal and replacement of 9,745 square feet of existing sod at additional areas along the existing Warrior Creek channel near the pedestrian bridges in front of The Summit, including temporary irrigation to establish the new sod.
- Removal and replacement of 5,550 square feet of dead sod around Lake 1 at Central Park. This sod died due to a water main break in the water main supplying water to the irrigation system at Central Park, which the contractor has tapped into for irrigation water to establish the sod around Lake 1 and the existing Warrior Creek channel. This water main break occurred the day the sod was being installed, so the contractor could not water the sod after installation until the next day.
- Removal, re-grading, and replacement of 14,550 square feet of sod at the southwest corner of the Public Safety Building. The main purpose of this portion is to re-grade an area in order to direct storm water away from the southwest corner of the Public Safety Building, which is an issue that was not known until the heavy rains during the month of May.
