Analysis

This project is for the remodel of the IT area located in City Hall.  The project will include the replacement of ceiling tile and grid, upgrade of lighting to LED, replacement of carpet, addition of an office space and storage area, installation of additional window, and replacement of office furniture.

 

Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency.  The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including U.S. Communities, TCPN, and BuyBoard.

 

The IT Remodel and associated furniture will be procured through the following contracts:  Home Depot through the U.S. Communities contract #11019, SDB Contracting through Buyboard contract #464-14, and Workplace Solutions through TCPN contract #R142214.

 

Financial Consideration

Funding for the remodel of the IT area in City Hall in the amount of $88,525 is available in the Capital Reserve Fund (402590), WO #01411303 (FY14 IT - Remodel of old Finance Area) - Building Maintenance (63010) and Small Office Furniture/Equipment (60530).
