Analysis
In June 2015, the City entered into an agreement with Southgate Constructors in the estimated amount of $738,529, which represents our 50% payment for the relocation of our North Dallas Supply Line, located in Irving in the TxDot SH 183 right-of-way from MacArthur Blvd. to William Brewster Drive. We previously in cooperation with Irving, relocated the section from Loop 12 from MacArthur to Grauwyler Road.
After relocation of the line, a second contract provided for the abandonment of the existing 48" water line jointly owned by Irving and Grand Prairie. This section was broken out as a separate contract at the request of Irving. This amendment provides for the filling of some 12,453 linear feet of the abandoned 48" line with cement grout. This will prevent the deterioration of the line under the new highway and is more economical than removing the line.
