Analysis
Staff received a request from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for a regulatory construction speed zone reduction for the existing SH 360 travel lanes, throughout the limits of the SH 360 Design Build Project, within the City of Grand Prairie.
The requested regulatory construction speed is 45 mph. The design speed is 40 mph for the existing SH 360 travel lanes, which are currently posted at 50 and 55 mph. The traffic control plan design speed shall be the existing posted speed limit as required by the SH 360 Technical Provisions. The items of work necessary to accomplish this request will be the responsibility of TxDOT, and will be carried out and completed at no cost to the City of Grand Prairie. The existing regulatory speed limit signs will be covered or removed during construction, and work zone regulatory signs will be installed.
