Analysis
TxDOT has requested the State Highway 360 project Developer to contract with a construction contractor to construct the Relocate Various Utilities for the State Highway 360 Improvments project. KCI Technologies of Irving, Texas is the design engineer for the State Highway 360 Utility Relocation project. The City of Grand Prairie has agreed to provide on-site observation during construction. The scope of services will include on-site representation, record drawing coordination with Contractor, coordination of technical assistance and arranagment of any testing of work required by the City of Grand Prairie.
Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter will create a daily log of observations and digital photographs from the On-site Observce and maintain electronic copies for the duration of the project. The daily logs of observations and pictures and other construction records shall be posted once a week on a FTP site accessible to the City of Grand Prairie.
The firm of Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, LLP is recommended for their extensive job knowledge of utility relocation projects and previous work experience with the City of Grand Prairie.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the amount of $86,026 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the Water Capital Projects Fund (500592) to WO#01612803 (SH 360 Utility Relocations) 61041 (Engineering Services).
