Analysis

The City of Grand Prairie has utilized Compass since 2013 through our interlocal agreement with the City of Frisco. Frisco recently rebid their contract and entered a new contract with Compass in 2019, #1901-034, so we are recommending a new contract for these services as well. This initial contract shall be in effect for a 17-month period from August 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020 to better align with City of Frisco's contract.

Compass provides key services which impact our bottom line, including Price Transparency, Health Pro and Concierge services. Compass provides resources to help employees understand the cost variability amongst physicians, hospitals and other services such as imaging, etc. within their insurance plan. To date, we have strong engagement at nearly 20% of our employees (understanding many may not need health services), employee satisfaction ratings of 92% who utilized the plan, and nearly $2.2 million estimated claims savings over the life of the contract through helping employees compare costs and allowing them to choose lower cost with the same quality of care, which also results in city savings.
