Analysis
On April 7, 2015, the Purchasing Department received a total of thirteen submittals through a Request for Qualifications Proposal advertisement. A committee of Parks, Arts and Recreation staff evaluated the submittals and narrowed the list to three firms for formal presentations and personal interviews. Based on both the original submittals and the interviews, the Committee has recommended the consultant firm of Magee Architects LLP. The finalist firm has provided architectural design services for municipal facilities throughout the Metroplex and was the architectural firm for the award winning Tony Shotwell Life Center and the Dalworth Recreation Projects.
Staff has negotiated a fee of $313,250 for architectural design services, including: topographic survey, geotechnical testing services and TASB plan review and inspection. Staff recommends approval of a 5% contingency in the amount of $15,663, for a total of $328,913.
