Analysis
The replacement of the dehumidifier at the Kirby Creek Natatorium was approved in the FY19 Municipal Facilities Capital Improvement Budget.
There is a 20 week lead time needed to assemble unit upon ordering. Installation is expected in June, 2019.
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including TIPS-USA.
The TIPS-USA Purchasing Cooperative have joined together government entities, in multiple states, to increase their buying power in acquiring products and services; lowering administrative procurement costs; and improving OVERALL business performance for each entity. Other benefits include: Centralized Vendor Listing; e-Commerce Store; Toll-Free Help Line; Competitively Bid Procurement Process and Vendor/Member Reporting Service.
McMillan James Equipment Company's TIPS-USA contract #170201 was effective March 23, 2017 and will expire April 26, 2019.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the amount of $265,795 is available in the Municipal Facilities Fund (405090), WO #01903103 (Natatorium Dectron Unit).
