Analysis
This contract will be for departments to utilize for the purchase of inspection of potable water storage tanks through underwater diving services; and if required, cleaning and repair of tanks on an annual basis located throughout the City of Grand Prairie.

Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including the City of Carrollton.

The City of Carrollton contract began October 15, 2014 and has a current expiration date of October 14, 2015. Because the City will not schedule inspection and cleaning services until November, we are entering into a contract to be effective for during the first of four available renewal terms for the City of Carrollton. Our contract will be effective October 15, 2015 through October 14, 2016 with the option to renew for three additional one-year periods if the City of Carrollton exercises such renewal options.
