Analysis
An estimated 140 CPR's are performed annually by the Grand Prairie Fire Department. Once CPR has begun it is imperative to provide continuous and consistent chest compressions until hospital staff are able to relieve the Paramedics of this function. The Lucas 2 Chest Compression system is a mechanical chest compression device. This device provides high quality compressions to patients in cardiac arrest. By using this device, the rate and depth of chest compressions remain consistent and continuous at all times, even during the movement of the patient downstairs, through narrow hallways and during transport.
