Analysis
As part of the City’s ongoing Capital Improvements Program, high maintenance and aged water and wastewater lines throughout the City are recommended for replacement by the water utilities staff on a yearly basis.

On August 7, 2018, the City of Grand Prairie council (18-8080) approved a construction contract with RKM Utility Services, Inc. in the amount of $1,293,459 for paving, drainage, water and wastewater improvements for Acosta Street from Nunez to Cober.

The current Amendment/Change Order No. 5 allows for final reconciliation of all items based on final inspection and measurements resulting in the negative amount of $29,157.00.

Amendment/Change order No.1 in the net negative amount of $156 was approved on March 20, 2019 provided for modification of a curb inlet and a reduction in 24" reinforced concrete pipe. (increase $3,425; decrease $3,581; cumulative $7,006)

Amendment/Change order No. 2 in the net negative amount of $9,011.50 was approved on June 10, 2019 provided for additional asphaltic concrete pavement, curb and gutter, curb inlet and a decrease in manhole junction structures and pipe. (increase $6,465; decrease $15,476.50; cumulative $21,941.50)

Amendment/Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $4,228 was approved on July 15, 2019 provided for concrete pavement, driveway, alley and sidewalk modifications (increase $4,404; decrease $176; cumulative $4,580)

Amendment/Change Order No. 4 in the amount of $4,844 was approved on August 29, 2019 provided for additional concrete pavement, sod and remobilization (increase $4,844; decrease $0; cumulative $4,844
