Approval of a request for a Specific Use Permit (SUP) allowing for a multi-purpose special event center to operate within an existing building that was formally occupied by the Hi-Ho Ballroom. The 2.142-acre property, located at 2315 W. Jefferson Street and within the Central Business District No. 1 (CBD-1), is zoned Commercial (C) District. The property is located south of W. Jefferson and west of SW 23rd Street.

ADJACENT LAND USES AND ACCESS:

North: Adjacent to the subject property to the northwest is bar, zoned Commercial Office (CO) District, operating as The Ritz. The Magic Carpet Club bar that is located in the same building as The Ritz is now formally closed and can no longer reopen as a bar. To the northeast of the property is a drive-through restaurant, zoned General Retail (GR) District, operating as Lisa’s Chicken. Directly north of the subject property is W. Jefferson Street, Union Pacific Rail Road, and Main Street.
