The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is seeking ratification of the application and acceptance of funding for the FY2015 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) Grant by signing the Sub-Recipient Agreement and other grant related documents from the Office of the Governor-Homeland Security Grants Division. The projects being funded through this grant program are regional projects identified by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). Ratification is being requested due to time constraints as it was necessary to apply as a sub-applicant of NCTCOG.
The total grant amount for these projects is $17,200.00. These funds will be managed by the OEM and allocated to the Fire Department to provide and/or enhance emergency response equipment.
This item will be placed on the City Council consent agenda for final approval on December 12, 2017.

A survey conducted by the North Central Texas Council of Governments found that the City of Grand Prairie's Hazmat Team, as well as other regional teams, had a need for Digital Pressure Test Kits to enhance current operations.
