Analysis
The replacement of one (1) ambulance and related equipment is a planned Fire Department project for FY20. Other equipment to be installed including a dual head radio, make ready, and the replacement of loose equipment is estimated at a cost of $57,507 using vendors through cooperative agreements and current City price agreements according to City purchasing policies and procedures.
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including national HGAC.
