Analysis
The FY 2014/2015 Solid Waste Equipment Acquisition Fund includes $750,000 for a replacement dozer. Quotes came in slightly higher than expected due to the fluctuating costs associated with more stringent environmental protection strategies employed in equipment at present. This dozer purchase will provide for a dozer that will consume 2 gallons per hour less diesel fuel that that of its non-electric comparison model and at a cost savings of $125,000.

They use the power of numbers as leverage to get better prices with the same vendors as we currently use.
