Analysis
Staff frequently visits with City Councilmembers about development and economic development within the City limits and in adjoining communities. Councilmembers have communicated what they desire to see when it comes to residential and multifamily projects, as well as for development of properties along the IH-30 corridor (particularly on all four corners with Belt Line Road) and for the sale of whole foods and fresh produce - and staff members have listened to their preferences.
As a result, staff drafted a Policy Position on Development and Economic Development in Grand Prairie and presented the Draft to the City Council Development Committee on March 18, 2019. Council Committee members received the Draft and unanimously supported its submission to Council consideration.
