Analysis
The existing playground at Charley Taylor Park will be in confict with the future expansion of the Recreation Center renovation and improvements. Childs Play, Inc. provided the equipment and installation coordination at the time of the orginal construction. Childs Play, Inc. has submitted a proposal for relocation of the equipment through BuyBoard. The additional funding will cover the cost of excavation and containment edging to complete the project installation.

Chapter 791 of the Texas Government code, also known as the Interlocal Cooperation Contracts Act, authorizes all local governments to contract with each other to perform governmental functions or services including administrative functions normally associated with the operations of government such as purchasing of necessary equipment supplies and services. The City of Grand Prairie does not need to competitively bid items purchased through such agreements as they have already been bid by the sponsoring entity of agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master interlocal cooperative agreements with various entities including BuyBoard.

This item was presented to the Finance and Government Committee on June 6 and received recommendation for approval by the City Council.

Financial Consideration
Funding in the amount of $69,767 is available by transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance of the PARKS Capital Project Fund (317193) to WO# 01714803 (Charley Taylor Playground Improvements).
