Analysis
The City’s Prairie Paws Adoption Center would like to apply for a grant of up to $10,000 from ASPCA to hold a Mega Match-a-Thon Shelter Pet Adoption Event sponsored by ASPCA and made possible by Subaru Share the Love. The Mega Adoption Event would be held October 17-19, 2014. The goal is to adopt out 325 animals. There are commitments from 17 other agencies (rescues, shelters, vendors, etc.) to participate in the event.
The event will be a festival in nature and featuring various shelters and rescues with the main focus on animal adoption into responsible, forever homes. Additionally, the event will also focus on animal awareness, pet education, responsible ownership and have a variety of animal lover activities, games, and features. The event will have music/entertainment, various vendors, a Spooktacular with games and fun for the family, along with food trucks and fun. Low cost spay/neuter services and vaccines will also be available to the public.
Financial Consideration
Prairie Paws Adoption Center could receive up to $10,000 to hold the event and there is no required City match for this grant application.
