Title
Price agreement for forensic laboratory testing from Integrated Forensic Laboratories, LLC, a local vendor, at an estimated annual cost of $150,000 with the option to renew for four additional one year periods totaling $750.000 if all renewal options are excercised; and authorize the City Manager to execute the renewal options with aggregate price fluctuations of the lesser of up to $50,000 or 25% of the original maximum price so long as sufficient funding is appropriated by the City Council to satisfy the City's obligation during the renewal terms.

Analysis
The Grand Prairie Police Department utilizes forensic laboratory testing services for the investigation of criminal offenses. Services provided include Blood Alcohol Concentration, narcotic identification, firearms forensics, and DNA testing. The City’s current agreement with Integrated Forensic Laboratories (IFL) is expiring, and a new agreement is necessary.
IFL has recently relocated to the City of Grand Prairie, and is the sole accredited private lab in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that can provide the complete range of services the Department will utilize. After research and discussions with representatives of IFL, the Police Department’s staff is satisfied with the services and pricing offered, both currently, and in the proposed new agreement.
The one year agreement exists with the option to renew up to four additional one year periods totaling $750,000 if all extensions are exercised. Renewal options include an agreement for aggregate price fluctuations of the lesser of up to $50.000 or 25% of the original maximum price as long as sufficient funding to satisfy the City’s obligation during the renewal terms is appropriated by the City Council.
