Analysis
On April 7, 2015, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to S.J. Louis Construction of Texas, Ltd. in the amount of $2,185,279.40 and approved a 5% contingency of $109,263.97 for a total of $2,294,543.37 for the Avenue K Street Relief Trunk Sewer construction project.
Construction on this project was to begin in mid-May 2015 but due to the heavy rainfall received in the month of May, construction did not begin until mid-June 2015. Change Order. No. 1 in the net amount of $10,830 is for pre-construction TV inspection of the existing wastewater mains.
Change Order. No. 2 in the net amount of $4,790 was for extension of a bore by 10 additional feet.
Change Order No. 3 was a time extension.
City staff is currently working with the contractor and consulting engineer on a revision to the project that will reduce the scope of the project at a later date, which will ...
