Analysis
The approval of the tax roll is an annual process required by the Texas Property Tax Code. The tax roll is calculated by taking the 2012 certified appraisal rolls (excluding property under protest) and applying the
2012/2013 adopted tax rate.
Financial Consideration
The approval of the tax rolls will enable the City to begin the annual tax collection process. The tax roll is also a funding basis included in the Proposed Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Budget.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, APPROVING THE 2012 TAX ROLL; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the proposed budget for 2012/2013 has been considered by the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to fund the budget; and,
WHEREAS, certified appraisal rolls have been received from the Dallas Central, Tarrant and Ellis
Central Appraisal Districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the 2012 tax roll of the City of Grand Prairie, Texas which will result in a tax levy of $62,804,427 based on the Certified Appraisal Rolls as approved by the
Dallas Central, Tarrant and Ellis Central Appraisal Districts;
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
