Analysis
Fire Station #2 repairs/rehab includes flooring, vent hood, counter tops, tile, roof trim and exterior painting at a total cost of $71,383

Fire Station #8 repairs/rehab includes interior paint, replace counter tops, resurface kitchen cabinetry, replacing doors, repair locker cabinets, bathroom partition replacement, flooring, exterior wall louver and roof trim repairs and exterior paint at a cost of $71,047.

Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including TIPS/TAPS.

The TIPS and TAPS purchasing cooperatives have joined together government entities, in multiple states, to increase their buying power in acquiring products and services; lowering administrative procurement costs; and improving OVERALL business performance at each entity. Other benefits include: Centralized Vendor Listing; e-Commerce Store; Toll-Free Help Line; Competitively Bid Procurement Process and Vendor/Member Reporting Service.

Financial Consideration
Funding for the renovation of Fire Stations #2 and #8 by Gallagher in the amount of $124,137 is available in the Municipal Facilities Capital Projects Fund (405090), WO #01503003 (FY15 Facility Repair/Rehab), Account 63010 (Building & Ground Maintenance) and $18,293 is available in the Municipal Facilities Capital Projects Fund (405090), WO #01603103...
