Analysis

Staff has proposed to improve the traffic flow at three intersections that are currently experiencing delays due to the current configurations.  The intersections are Belt Line Road and Lone Star Parkway; Lake Ridge Parkway and Great Southwest Parkway; and Marshall Road and SW 3rd Street.  The work to be performed shall consist of providing preliminary engineering services for the development of a schematic design layout, data collection analysis, and design alternatives for intersection improvements.

Belt Line Road at Lone Star Parkway is experiencing significant delays during heavy events at the Entertainment District and shall take top priority.  The design will be the addition of a right turn lane.  The intersection at Lake Ridge Parkway and Great Southwest Parkway in its current configuration has received numerous complaints.  The intersection at Marshall Road and SW 3rd Street experiences heavy truck volumes but is geometrically constrained.  The consultant will consider alternatives and propose improvements for these intersections.
