On Tuesday, August 1, 2017 the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to McMahon Contracting, L.P. in the amount of $1,320,917.08 for drainage improvements Section 1-Cottonwood Creek Culvert Improvements at Great Southwest Parkway and Section 2 Oakdale Road Culvert Improvements.
This proposed change order No. 3 will decrease the Section 1 contract amount for deletion of the contract 16” water line relocation improvements at Great Southwest Parkway and South Fork Cottonwood Creek in the amount of $109,294.73 in response to the redesign of the culvert headwall structure to clear the 16” water Line and discovered AT&T duct bank. The additional construction cost due to the redesigned headwall was approved in change order #1 to the contract. This proposed change order No. 3 will also decrease the Section 2 contract amount for deletion of temporary asphalt pavement widening for detours on Oakdale Road in the amount of $51,035.52 which resulted with the approval of the contractor’s traffic control plan to close Oakdale to traffic in phases with the proposed expedited construction schedule. The total change order amount is a contract decrease of $160,330.25 for a revised contract amount of $1,184,909.23.
Change order #1 was approved on October 20, 2017 in the amount of $23,722.40 for 24-inch drill shafts and counter support work for a revised contract amount of $1,344,639.48.
