Analysis
The Police and Fire departments implemented a new public safety system in November 2014. Part of the implementation was a partial update of 6 year old laptop equipment in the vehicles. The first phase of the new equipment replacements was in February 2014. This request will replace the remaining older units and provide the required equipment in the new Tahoe patrol vehicles currently being delivered.
 
ARC, a State approved DIR vendor, has submitted a quote for $199,999.88 for 42 CF-31 Panasonic Toughbooks laptop and accessories. Funding for this request was included in the FY 2014-2015 budget.
 
Financial Consideration
Funding for the Police & Fire Department Mobile Toughbooks Phase II in the amount of $200,000 is available in the Police Capital Project Fund (401091) WO #01505803-60540 (PD Mobile Laptops Phase II).
