Analysis
These properties were struck off to the taxing jurisdictions by Sheriff's Deeds for delinquent taxes, penalties, interest and court costs.  The City advertised 11 tax foreclosure properties for sale by sealed bids with a bid opening on September 20, 2012.  Responsive bids were received for all eleven of these properties, as follows:
 
·      2122 San Antonio - $15,001 from Electric $, LLC, high bidder of 5;
·      941 SW 4th - $14,410 from Victor Reyes, high bidder of 10;
·      1641 Ruea - $13,8500 from Victor Reyes, high bidder of 7;
·      2929 Birchbrook - $13,505 from Jose Esquivel, high bidder of 9;
·      2209 San Antonio - $16,150 from Sunday Umeh, high bidder of 13;
·      1306 Lakeview - $16,040.89 from Delphine A. Bush, high bidder of 9;
·      529 Austin - $5,250 from Edward Sugg, high bidder of 3;
·      2030 Avenue A - $5,000 from Laura Lozano, high bidder of 4;
·      2129 Houston - $4,026 from Samir Juma / Auto Haus Imports, high bidder of 2;
·      1510 Ranch - $8,000 from Carlos Salazar, high bidder of 8; and
·      1922 Avenue D - $4,150 from Jose Chavez, high bidder of 3.
 
This item will authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute quitclaim deeds to the successful bidders for these properties at the respective purchase prices.
 
Financial Consideration
These properties are currently off the tax roll. After the sale they will return to the tax roll and the new owner will be responsible for maintenance.
