Analysis
In FY18, Grand Prairie Animal Services took in approximately 7,500 animals. To care for this population of pets, from intake through adoption, supplies required include wet and dry foods, cat litter, carriers, ID bands, and leashes. This ensures proper identification, confinement, and nutrition throughout their time onsite at the shelter.
Notice of bid #19133 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and Bid Sync; it was distributed to five (5) vendors. There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity. Three (3) bids were received as shown on attachment A.
The low bid, split between C. Specialties, Henry Did It, and Henry & White, meets specifications and is recommended for award.
Financial Consideration
Funds are available in FY 2018/2019 General Fund Animal Services Budget (301110 - 60230) for Animal Feed/Care Supplies and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
