Analysis

Microchips provide a form of identification and ownership of an animal.  Per city ordinance, all animals must be microchipped before leaving Prairie Paws.  The price agreement with Found Animals Foundation, Inc. will be utilized to purchase microchips and microchip scanners.

Notice of bid #15135 was viewed by 19 vendors. There were no Grand Prairie vendors available.   Seven bids were received and reviewed.  Found Animals Foundation, Inc. meets specifications and is recommended for award.

Financial Consideration

Funds are available in FY 2014/2015 Animal Services budget 301110-60235 for veterinarian supplies and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year.  Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budget.
