Grand Prairie Baseball Club, LLC (GPBC) have been the operators of QT Ballpark since April 2011. On April 5th the City Council approved Amendment #2 that would have expired on December 31, 2016. The amendment was never executed by the Tenant. Since that time, staff has drafted a revised Amendment # 2. The major changes from the Council Approved April 5th Amendment # 2 are outlined below:
1. Amendment #2 terminates the original sublease on October 31, 2016.
(Not included in April 5th Amendment #2)
2. Amendment #2 provides the rent reduction from October 1, 2015 to October 31, 2016.
(April 5th Amendment # 2 provided a rent reduction from March to December 2016)
3. The City can make repairs to the facility and landscaping in 2016.
(April 5th Amendment #2 included splitting repair costs between the City and the Tenant, the revised Amendment #2 allows the Tenant to pay for its own repair cost and the City to pay for its own repair costs.)
The City may continue to rent the ballpark facilities to the Grand Prairie Baseball Club in the future based on negotiated rates and terms.
