Local Government Code, Chapter 211. Municipal Zoning Authority; Subchapter A. General Zoning Regulations, Section 211.008(b). Board of Adjustment states, "A board of adjustment must consist of at least five members to be appointed for terms of two years." Currently, members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment are appointed for three-year terms.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 2 "ADMINISTRATION," SECTION 2-7(g) TO REFLECT THAT THAT APPOINTMENTS TO THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT SHALL BE FOR TWO YEAR TERMS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 211 of the Local Government Code, Subchapter A "General Zoning Regulations, Section 211.008(b) states, "A board of adjustment must consist of at least five members to be appointed for terms of two years"; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-7(g) of the Code of Ordinances would currently establish three-year terms for members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend Section 2-7(g) to comply with requirements set out in the Local Government Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the Grand Prairie Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2 "Administration" Section 2-7(g) shall be amended to read in its entirety as follows:
"(g) Except as follows, and except for appointees to the Grand Prairie Sports Facilities Development Corporation and the Zoning Board of Adjustment, no person shall serve more than two (2) consecutive three-year terms on any board or commission or agency, nor more than si...
