Analysis
Dickey Road at SH 161 NBFR, SW 14th Street at SH 161 SBFR, January Lane at SH 161 SBFR, Hill Street at SH 161 NBFR, and Brady Lane at Pioneer Pkwy are currently controlled by stop signs and are warranted for the installation of a traffic signal. These intersections are located within TxDOT ROW and will require TxDOT approval and permit for construction. We have requested that TxDOT consider constructing traffic signal at these intersections and as a sign of cooperation, we will provide traffic signal design at the aforementioned intersections to TxDOT for construction. The two traffic signals on MacArthur Blvd will be constructed as part of the MacArthur Blvd widening project. The signal at S. Carrier Pkwy at Desco Lane is being built because of numerous requests from citizens.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has submitted a proposal for traffic signal design at the aforementioned intersections for a lump sum fee of $86,500 along with the construction services fee (hourly basis) not to exceed $8,000 for a total amount of $94,500.
Funding for the design of new traffic signals was included in the FY 2012/2013 Street Capitol Improvement Program (CIP).

Funding for the design fee of $94,500 is available in the Street Capitol Projects Fund (400192), WO #01205703 (FY12 High Accident Locations).
