Analysis
The City of Grand Prairie Solid Waste and Recycling Division applied for a Solid Waste Grant through the North Central Texas Council of Governments early in the 2018/2019 funding biennium. The resolution (4939-2018) allowing the application to proceed appeared on the March 6, 2018 City Council Agenda as item #18-7643. The application was successful and has provided for recycling bins that have been furnished to Grand Prairie Schools along with a large-scale campaign to reduce single-use plastics. As this funding cycle is drawing to a close, the Council of Governments has additional funding to disperse and has selected Grand Prairie's project as an eligible recipient, but required a short time frame to amend the agreeement. Ratification of this amendment and resolution amending the original resolution 4939-2018 will provide for an additional $1,150.01 for the project.
Financial Consideration
This is a reimbursement grant. The additional $1,150.01 is available in the approved FY 2018/2019 Solid Waste Operating Budget.
