Analysis
The consultant firm of Rouch Architecture, has submitted a proposal for architectural design services for Police Department’s Detention Center Plumbing Repair Project. The proposal for design services is inclusive of civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, cost estimating, and site visits during construction. The fee totals $51,100 with a reimbursable amount not to exceed $1,500 for a total contract cost of $52,600. The reimbursable expenses may include printing, deliveries, CAD plots, and mileage.
The Police Department’s Detention Center Plumbing Repair Project scope of work includes removal and replacement all existing plumbing fixtures partitions and accessories, new flooring/wall epoxy coating, and possible ceiling finish upgrades. Positive drainage at shower/ cell locations also to be evaluated. Additionally, the mechanical system and air exchange function will be evaluated as a possible factor in causing plumbing fixture finish degradation throughout the Detention Center.
Financial Consideration
Funding for architectural services with Rouch Architects in the amount of $51,100 for architectural design services, approved reimbursable expenses up to the amount of $1,500 for a total request of $52,600, is available in the Police Capital Projects Fund (401091), WO #01705003 (PSB Fixture Renovations/Repairs) 68200 (Improvement to Existing Facility).
