On Wednesday, July 12, 2017 the City of Grand Prairie opened bids for Drainage Improvements (#Y1118): Section 1-Cottonwood Creek Culvert Improvements at Great Southwest Parkway, Section 2 Oakdale Road Culvert Improvements. The low bidder is McMahon Contracting, L.P. in the Base Bid amount of $1,320,917.08 for total bid amount of $1,320,917.08.

This project was identified as part of the FY17 Capital Projects Budget and Capital Projects Plan for Proposed Storm Drainage Improvements to alleviate flooding. The project consists of two location for Drainage Improvements (#Y1118):

Section 1: Cottonwood Creek Culvert Improvements at Great Southwest Parkway. The drainage improvements at this location is part of the city wide master drainage plan for the Cottonwood Creek watershed and will provides for 100-year flood culvert improvements along the Great Southwest Parkway crossing at South Fork Cottonwood Creek. This project provides for the construction of two additional 11 foot by 9 foot storm drainage box culvert barrels and inlet upsizing on Great Southwest Parkway to reduce flood backwater upstream of the South Fork Cottonwood Creek crossing.
